"Off to play a quick game of street dice"

The Anti-DC cracks me up. And no, it's not simply because she actually read my blog once (the proof is in the pudding, my friends), though I'll admit that didn't hurt. In all honesty, I read her blog long before she happened to read mine. If you've ever lived in DC, visited DC, schooled in DC, or formed some biased opinions of DC without having ever lived/visited this political wasteland, her blog is totes for you. Because it's all true.

Anyway, blog love aside, I just read her post, "spring is here! dc sheds its pants! ew." and I just had to share it with you... mostly because I was a victim of the dreaded legging, and I'm still living it down. Yes... still.
The humiliation heaped upon me by so-called "friends" and "concerned co-workers" was enough to make me too embarrassed to wear them in the privacy of my tiny studio.
Although, I'll admit it, it wasn't enough to get me to throw them out... until now.

Thanks, Marissa.

Aborting Text Messages

Most of you know what I do for a living... right? I mean, I certainly hope so. If not, well... ask someone. Because the rest of the post might be confusing if you don't know.

So, yesterday was sort of a big deal at work, given the fab NYTimes article and subsequent fallout. It was so DEAD! And I was running around like a chicken with its head cut-off... which, oddly enough, was also highly enjoyable. And the blogs! The blogs were outstanding...

DW brought my attention to this post in Jezebel (a top 10 fav blog), and I really think the title says it all, "Ever Sent A Text Message You Wish You Could Abort."
So there's been some big hoo-hah about the abortion rights crowd sending out mass text messages to supporters because our tender eyes are too impressionable not to go out and get an abortion every time we're reminded it's still legal. Which made us think: how many ill-advised text messages have you sent only to wake up pining for the text message equivalent to Plan B?

Hysterical. And yeah, that's happened to me a couple thousand times. My cell phone bill speaks for itself.

It also reminded me of how much I hated my Razr because if I ever started to text someone, and changed my mind mid-text, I couldn't just exit. Oh no! I had to confirm that I wanted to "abort" my message - grody, right?

It's funny how my life has now come full circle...

"What's the Czech for "Do you love him"?"

Dooce wrote about loving the movie Once...

See? I told you Once was da bomb... remember (see Agosto '07 obsession)??? And when my favorite blogger ever references it, well... then I know I'm da bomb. That's just how it works in my special little world.

YearlyKos Explained

Thank you, Gristmill, for the head's up on this:

I hate it when I miss my nightly Colbert Report. Must. Stop. Working.
